Multicenter Prospective Study Collaboration Recruitment: External Validation of a Risk Prediction Model for Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) after Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS)

This is an International Obesity Society (IOS) endorsed research project recruiting collaboration centers for external validation of a risk prediction model for Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) after Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS).

Background:

  • The incidence of IDA after MBS is relatively high

  • A high - performance nomogram - based prediction model has been developed

  • Multicenter external validation is urgently needed

Study Design:

  • Multicenter, prospective study

  • Participants: Patients undergoing MBS

  • Outcome: Occurrence of IDA within 1 year after MBS

Collaboration Requirements:

  • Centers performing MBS

  • Capability for 1-year postoperative follow-up

  • Willingness to assist with data collection (using an established clinical scoring system)

Benefits of Collaboration:

  • Authorship on publications

  • Shared research outcomes
